Welcome to my profile. I am an experienced
counsellor and a member of BACP (British Association of Counselling
and Psychotherapy). I am passionate about supporting people to
resolve the problems they are facing in order to live their lives in
the best possible way.
About me
I qualified as a counsellor in 2001 and have worked in the
NHS, in prison rehabilitation services, the Priory treatment centres
and in a women’s refuge, as well as developing my own private
practice. I have worked with severe trauma and mental illness,
addiction, abuse and loss and bereavement as well as depression,
anxiety, relationship problems, low self esteem and issues around
sexuality.
I moved to France in 2017 and I have developed a good understanding
of the difficulties faced by people moving to a different country.
The language barrier, change in culture, separation from loved ones,
as well as wider issues such as Brexit, can cause strain on
individuals and their relationships.
Counselling offers you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and
feelings in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. The aim
is to help you to generate your own solutions in a way which
respects your values and personal resources; enabling you to live in
a way that you find more satisfying.
Based in the Poitou-Charente (86) I offer face to face and telephone
and Skype counselling. An initial 20 minute introductory session is
free. This can help you decide if you would like to work with me and
to ask any questions. Thank you for reading my profile and please
contact me if you have any queries.
